I think it's well past its prime right now and will not be drinkable for much longer. (3429 views) | | Tasted by bmilesfl on 4/4/2010 & rated 92 points: Had not had this wine in over a year. Drank very nicely along with cooking out with friends. Smooth buttery, oaky wine that coats the mouth with all that is good from a wine like this. This still is one of my favorite Chards. (1896 views) | | Tasted by OregonWineGeeks on 2/28/2008 & rated 95 points: Highly Rated Chardonnay from the Carmel area, I have 3 bottles of this left in the cellar. My review Vanilla nose with a hint of citrus, golden colored but not fruity. Dry taste with acid fine finish. Excellent paring for cheese and a light pasta in a butter and wine sauce. Brought out the flavor of seafood as well as cheese, chocolate, and pasta. Best chardonnay of 2008 for me so far. (1151 views) | | Tasted by pfrichar on 2/14/2008 & rated 88 points: Solid Cali chard. Butterscotch nose, nice chard flavors. (2032 views) | | Tasted by davidandrose on 2/12/2008 & rated 86 points: Improved over 90 minutes of air time. | Bernardus Winery Producer WebsiteChardonnay The Chardonnay GrapeUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Central Coasthttp://www.ccwinegrowers.org/links.html
