2011 Joseph Phelps Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Grown Napa Valley

BLEND: 85% cabernet sauvignon, 13% merlot and 2% petit verdot from 100% estate vineyards.

WINEMAKER'S NOTES: Grapes were hand sorted and fermented in stainless steel tanks, then aged 18 months in a combination of52% new oak (52% French, 42% American) and 48% 1-2 year old French and American oak barrels. The barrel coopers included Ermitage, Francois Freres, Taransaud, Demptos, Nadalie, Canton and Barrel Associates.

The 2011 has beautiful aromatics of plum, cherry, currants, coffee, cocoa and hints of allspice, fresh thyme, tobacco and forest floor. The body is laced with integrated tannins, great freshness and red fruit characteristics.
