March 18, 2023 - A really interesting wine, on first mouthful, not very attractive, but subsequently it offers many nuanced aromas and flavours.
A rather disturbing medium gold colour.
The gewurtz gives lovely floral notes and spice and with the food, the riesling seemed to provide some lovely citrus aftertaste.
We paired with grilled salmon fillets, avocado olive and lime, mushrooms and eggplant. Without the avocado, it paired really well, but the acid in the avocado seemed to cause a bitter aftertaste with the wine.
Definitely some orange marmalade on the nose and medium+ acidity.
As another reviewer said, it's good for a glass and to share with 4-5 people, but having had this with food, it is a food wine and it's easy to keep the whole bottle for oneself.

It's hard to mark this down on balance, but without food, it seems to battle against itself.
This is drinking well now, but has potential for further ageing. Unfortunately it's the only one I have...141 views
