June 23, 2023 - First time trying a Timorasso and likely won't be the last; screwcap closure, 14% etoh.
Color/App: poured a moderately deep yellow/gold; medium ++ viscosity. Really nice bouquet on PnP of honeysuckle, pears and green apples, peaches and a touch of green melon. Viscous mouthfeel but lined with a nice spine of acidity that I guess Timorasso is known for. Rich, creamy palate showcasing stone fruit, honey and white flowers and a notable mineral streak. While I get the references to Riesling mixed with Viognier, I would be more inclined to guess Chenin Blanc/Viognier if looking for a signpost as to expectations. Absolutely delicious and worth a search. And this stuff ages well, supposedly -- gonna have to try that. Thank you, Walter Massa, for saving what was obviously a forgotten (and almost lost) noble white grape. 92 - 93; in my wheelhouse for sure.1 person found this helpful 573 views
