July 27, 2023 - 94/95. Profound. Has lovely aromas of blueberries, blackberries, leather, sandstone, mint and clove hints. The best silky Tondonia ever. Its layered medium bodied palate has a taffetas texture, impressive depth and lightly cloved blue, black and red fruits and great freshly fruited length . I have ordered half a case. 13%.This is my Château Petrus. Can be drunk with pleasure PnP but improves with 7-8 hrs aeration with the blue fruits coming out. Improves on day 2. Lay down 10-25 years easily. This Pinotes a little.

7/28/23, 7:16 PM - 7-8 hour decant tells me it needs more bottle time. I have a case of the 10 Bosconia to hold me over.

7/29/23, 1:14 PM - Ok great, thanks for the advice about decant. Might try it soon with a long decant! Is bosconia a rather easier wine in its youth?

  • WineGuyDelMar commented:

7/29/23, 1:19 PM - Bosconia is always ready IMO before Tondonia in the same year. It is much more open & accessible. The 09 Bosconia is drinking beautifully right now and will go for many more years.

7/29/23, 1:22 PM - Ok got it, thank you for this info. It is my first experience with this winemaker, got some Tondonia 2010 and Bosconia 2011. Will try them soon! Cheers!

7/29/23, 1:25 PM - Get some of the 10 Bosconia while it’s still cheap. $30 still.

8/9/23, 2:10 AM - I have been thinking for some time that the 2010 Tondonia reserva probably has the most comments / tasting notes of all the wines in my collection. I’ve tried it once in a restaurant and found it was way too young for me. My case remains sealed.
Meanwhile, good rec for the Bosconia and I will look for some.
