I don't really care for very ripe 15% abv Grenache fruit bombs such as Spain has flooded the market with, but really good Grenache should have some aromatics of licorice, incense, kirsch (often quite sublime) and just be more "generous." I can see why very popular and moderately priced southern Rhones (say under $20) usually blend in some Mourvedre, Syrah, or Carignane with this most fickle varietal. As it is, at least this bottle tastes like something is missing.
