December 4, 2023 - Drank from 375. First day couldn't get much from it, these notes are after bottle being open for 2 days.
Not much nose still, faint black/red fruit (blackberry and raspberry) but very closed off. The very beginning of some herbal notes the longer it's in the glass. Palate more open - pretty strong cranberry note/texture from young tannin, but with some nice tart cherry/black cherry mixed in. Very creamy texture, reminiscent of big/dark Napa cabs in their youth. Approaches a kind of char note but doesn't quite get there.
Big picture, still way too early to drink, but goodness knows I've got enough stored away and decided to take a flier on a cheap half bottle to see what I was working with. Next time will try with a much longer decant vs sitting in the bottle.4 people found this helpful 8,174 views
