December 22, 2023 - Cellared. Pop and pour, cork in good shape. Deep, dark, inky maroon red. Initial funk on nose, a few minutes to blow off. After that, dark fruit with a stemmy, vegetal note, concentrated but not cloying. On the palate, dark fruits, with cherries, cigar box and ending with blueberries and tobacco, on a medium short finish. I love how Mencia ages and although this is a little more concentrated and oaky than is typical, was still a decent bottle, with a couple of years left in it.
