January 5, 2024 - Decanted. Rust-ruby in color, with clarity and brightness. Aromas of pressed roses, sandalwood, brown mushroom, worn leather and black tea, with emerging dark fig and blood orange fruit. Lively and succulent fruit expression on the palate, with further fig notes and red apple skin, along with seamless secondary layers of star anise, tar, fresh hibiscus, crushed stone, rosemary and damp forest. Medium-to-full in body, fleshy and expansive, Fine around the edges but with plenty of teeth and grip, not totally integrated structurally but that’s okay. Taut with its acidity and fine gripping tannins, finishing with long succulent length. Excellent, very early drinking in its window. Drink/hold.
