    January 20, 2024 - Everything pretty much the same as my 1/14/2023 note; except - instead of a "flabby" mouthfeel, maybe more "softish"; and now the warmth on the finish is pretty much obscuring the fruit. Not sure where this is going, but I would drink sooner to be sure you catch the fruit.

    Good reminder for many zin fans. I'd normally prefer even earlier than the ones I've had in 2023 and 2024, but the high alcohol levels can make that tough. I've aged some of the Bedrock and Carlisle zins and its just not my style preference. Maybe its the alcohol and/or the ripeness and/or the current style. I stopped buying zins in 2018, so there aren't many left in my cellar.

    1/21/24, 6:36 PM - Yep, it seems like you've been suffering through many of these Bedrock and Carlisle zins, so it's good to hear that you stopped buying a while back. IMHO, those two are part of the mount-rushmore of current zinfandel producers and they craft some of the most balanced and often-times structured zins around. So if you're not digging them, I'd probably venture to say that you're just not a fan of zinfandel these days. Nothing wrong with that.....you never know until you taste em! Cheers!
