February 4, 2024 - Opened 4hrs ahead, 2hrs in the decanter. Even still, the nose was pretty closed and the wine felt young. Kids are screaming in the background and you’re trying to catch up with an old friend. Amidst all this you take a sip and the wine just knocks you back in your seat, conversation breaks to a halt. It has that hallmark of great wines, the combination of power, elegance and length. Even though it’s closed and too young, its qualities are obvious: Amazing acidity, a hedonistic red and dark fruit that’s just so…sexy for lack of a better word, but never too much. After rigorous swirling more classic brunello notes, some VA. I would say cellar 3-5yrs more.
