  February 27, 2024 - 14% abv, which shows a bit too much. I didn't have time to decant, but this could use it. Scorched earth nose that is otherwise closed, likely due to my non-decanting. The palate is a hair thin and very tannic, with the tannins overpowering and drying out the finish a bit. But there seems to be pretty nice fruit underneath, that should (I hope) shine with many more years of age. The finish is pretty quick at this point (other than the tannins) and the fruit lacks persistence/deep substance. This was perfectly fine with food if you want to drink it now, otherwise hold for a while and hope that it becomes more generous.
