December 1, 2023 - 12/1/23-Composite cork that helped when removed. Legs are very apparent for this wine. Wasn't the jumilla flavor profile I was expecting, which was thick and dense. This was thinner but I don't mean low level of fruit. Viscosity? First impression is not that impressed. Only had a glass to go with a meal of Italian sausage, as I hoped it would pair well. Vacuum sealed for next day.
Day 2. Tart and has changed. Really sour fruit and nothing like jumilla I've known. Wine has fell together more since yesterday, but still not a wine I like. A sting on the tongue. Sour cherry? Hard to peg this. It doesn't taste like wine. Trying tomorrow but if no improvement, tossing.
I replaced the cork, left on kitchen counter for 2-3 months, and used for cooking pot roast and crock pot Italian sausage. Had high hopes as label advertises a 93 Wine Spectator rating, but not a rebuy here, and can do better.1 person found this helpful 382 views
