  March 30, 2024 - Smells more like a Brunello or even Barolo than a Zinfandel. On the nose I'd never guess this is Zinfandel. Lots of earth, smoke, iron and cacao. Similar impression on the palate: dark, rustic, structured, full bodied and tannic and really serious. Nothing sweet or remotely jammy that could maybe lead to Zinfandel, brooding and strict. Terroir driven. Super interesting, authentic stuff. Very young still. Great development in the decanter and glass over hours. This will have a long life. 17.5+/20
