  September 5, 2022 - Atkin 95+ Tasting Event (and dinner wines) (Strauss Auction, Cape Town (and Jo'burg)): A magnificent nose with savoury notes joined with garrigue, lavender, spice, black plum and blackberry. The enticing and fabulous intensity this carries forward to the palate. The wine has a forward gait - graceful, focussed, supported by a mineral-edged acidity and granular tannins. A myriad of flavours reveal more damson plum than black on the palate with riper blackberry notes together giving a hint of sweetness to the mid-palate. I found some red fruit quietly jostling for position in the background with a hint of toasty spice, whilst together the wine shows density and concentration. Fab!
