  May 11, 2024 - A Savage Bday (67 Pall Mall, London): A very healthy and magnificent bottle. Granted at this age the bottle variation is to be expected but here we struck gold with not one but two bottles perfectly healthy and just magical. For lovers of oldschool classic well aged claret this is it. The nose ever so magical , tobacco, earthy, leather and with soft tertiary fruit all coming together in a magical result. We did not know 1978 Pauillacs could deliver still ( or ever) this level of beauty but this was just magical. The palate needs its time to ope and for sure not at the same level as the nose but still what a magical experience. 94-95
