Community Tasting Note

November 29, 2009 - First bottle opened and was a bit flat, though still pleasant. Second bottle was much better, first tasted after an hour or so of decanting. Smelt like a wet forest at first, with lots of tar and a strong gravely odour. The taste was much better than the nose with a surprisingly fresh finish. It was a real coater and the taste hung in the mouth. It kept on improving as we drank it and the nose really mellowed out to end on a faint cherry note which also showed through on the taste.
