  February 12, 2010 - We all know it was a great vintage and I've not had the courage to crack a grand vin from Ornellaia yet but this does the job very nicely. I'm not going into the whole appearance/nose/palate/finish thing here but suffice to say that where the "big" Ornellaia is probably my favourite wine of all, the "junior" version bears more than a passing resemblance. No it isn't that cheap, and it has the harsh stigma of a second wine but this is tops. The Forts de Latour of Italian wines maybe? Lovely but with a good 5 years+ to go before it levels. If you want a score I'll go 90+ on this bottle. Tasting blind, if it said Pichon Lalande on the label you may be surprised by the profile but not the quality
