April 7, 2006 - Floral nose bursts out of the glass. It's 3 night later and I still have a glass. Stored the undrunk portion in the fridge each night. It's amazing that this pinot lasts that long and doesn't show any negative effects from oxidizing. 3rd night nose is candied floral. Pretty concentrated for a pinot. Candied cherry, deep sweetness (residual sugar)? A bit of cinnamon...some sips reveal licorace or anise showing a bit of complexity. Long finish and pretty decent backbone for a pinot. This baby needs a couple or three years to settle and evolve in my opinion. I don't think it's showing at it's best. 90 points now...but it's easy to see how this can be a 93-96 pointer as it evolves.
