Community Tasting Note

September 23, 2011 - This wine was tasted in double-blind fashion at Vintage Wines, Ltd. The bottle was kindly provided by Rob Norberg. When tasted, this wine had already been decanted and aerated for six hours. The robe is opaque red/garnet and the nose, a bit shy, shows aromas of kirsch liqueur, pencil, minerals and lavender. Full-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity and generous supple tannins. The alcohol is well-integrated and the flavors mirror the nose. A solid middle palate leads to a long, slightly tart finish. While approachable at this point, this Lynch is nowhere near its full potential. Give it several more years if you want to enjoy it at a point where it is fully strutting its stuff. Drink 1/20-12/35.
