October 28, 2006 - Tasted as part of wineodepot.com's Tasting With Friends. Deep, plum color. Opened and poured into decanter while testing some in the glass. Nose is somewhat muted at first with some meatiness and sweet cherries. After a bit, some vanilla and blackberry starts to peek through. A bit thin on the mid-palate. Cherry on the palate. With some time, the palate starts showing less cherry and some plum. Very cherry on the finish initially, but sour cherries. Long finish, but a sour taste that remains after the core finish. Nice acidity, with some tannins that come out to play after about an hour of air time.

CB: Tasted as part of wineodepot.com's Tasting With Friends. Dark red brick in color, slightly cloudy, medium water rim with some color variation towards the rim. Nose of dark fruits, mostly blackberries, a hint of tar and a slight white pepper. Palate is rather tannic, a bit thin on the mid palate but a good sized finish. The palate also added some black cherries. After some time in the glass the tannins seemed to mellow out a bit but the wine still doesn't seem quite balanced. Became more sour the longer it sat in the glass. A good price, but there are a lot of other wines in this price range that taste better. 85 pts.
