  February 12, 2005 - Very dark purple, nose of blackcurrant, pencil lead and cedar. This is clearly a wine of some structure and substance, but is very tight and semi shut-down. After a few minutes of air there were hints of green pepper on the nose and on the palate, while with good underlying fruit, the tannins and oak were noticeable and the finish dry and slightly bitter. I believe this wine will improve substantially within 4-5 years.
