April 8, 2012 - A well balanced cab. A mix of black and red fruits, with some sour cherry and some mild vegetal characteristics on the finish. Has fairly smooth tannins, some acidity as well. Not a big cab though it gets better with decanting and age. A lot better than the bottle I had a couple of years ago where I didn't see what the hype was all about as it was quite ordinary- maybe an 86 - 87 rating then. Not overly complex. At $30 in 2008 for what I paid - there are more interesting cabs for the money. For those who like a classic - medium to full bodies Australian cab, this is a good bet. It was overhyped by WL and GV but a solid cab overall - just pricy for what you get.
