The palate has a solid, mid-plus weight feel to it, with the fruit not displaying the obnoxious sweetness of a recent '02. The savory aspect is much more in play, and there's a respectable level of acidity as well, even if it's lower than some might prefer. The tannins are grippy and chalky still. This needs time, and I hope it will repay the patience.
