  July 10, 2012 - Decanted for an hour, served with meatballs on a bed of soba with steamed romanesco broccoli. Ink dark red, prominent leather nose. Not much going on fruitwise or in the middle but a firm leather and oak tail end with a curious spicy kick that goes on for some time. An unusual but not altogether satisfactory daily drinker, quite different than our usual fruit-forward style. Decidedly Old World.
