  October 7, 2012 - have had two with similar impressions on both. after getting past the synthetic cork, which somehow just doesn't feel right here especially for a howell cab, the nose is outstanding. the smell and bones seem like a great representation of the area, which i am a big fan of -- especially if you can grab this in the low $20s (if you get on a discount). i'm hoping that it is just a bit too young at this point as the front of the taste is a bit tannic/astringent but improves with time. i plan on waiting on the rest of what i have and am thinking this will develop well from here. rating based on potential combined with price to quality ratio. but still think it is high 80s even now.
