October 21, 2012 - This is a case in point that because the label reads "Grand Cru" it doesn't guarantee quality! Highly disappointing given both the above average vintage and the well known producer. Cork showed signs of seepage along the sides; however, the wine was fine and was decanted for over an hour. Didn't see the bricking that others have reported; however, the wine was lighter bodied and had a very thin mouthfeel. Closed nose, and not much fruit. There were flavors of spice, herbs, and the characteristic terroir earthiness. Short finish. Probably should be drank over the next year; I doubt it will improve much. Really faded over the three hours it sat in the decanter.
