December 5, 2012 - Having tried this wine twice, what can I say other than it is just my cup of tea for the QPR and drinkability. The Ara Pathway Pinot Noir is a lighter style Pinot without much oak presence; however, it has an interesting nose that is slightly savory and with the earthy almost Burgundian profile that is easily identifiable as Pinto Noir: ashy and charred, forest floor and with a big strawberry lift. The palate is medium-weight at best but very food-friendly, good acidity. This is an uncomplicated wine in the sense that it drinks well now and is rewarding. Don't expect this to give much tannins or weight but the finish is very pleasing for the price; Sonoma-lovers need not apply.
