December 24, 2012 - Initially some cool, raw bloody steak on the nose, but this opens up into some barnyard, meat and cherries after ~2 hours of decant, when we started drinking it. Really tasty mixture of cherries, iodine, rust and bitter note on the finish. Very good acidity and tannins, not overpowering but extremely smooth. After further decanting this clears up into more sweet cherry and blueberry tasting wine. Smooth and enjoyable with grilled lamb chops and lasagna bolognese. Will age nicely but ready to drink now with few hours in a decanter.
