December 29, 2012 - This was surprisingly accessible despite its youth. The concentrated nose starts out with distinct leather aromas, with secondary scents of cinnamon spice and stewed tomatoes emerging with a bit of aeration. Expecting this to be mouth-puckeringly tannic due to its young age (and lack of decanting), I was surprised when the mouthfeel ended up being more mature, a languid and smooth mixture of the aforementioned flavors. Fun to drink now, but the lack of pronounced structural elements just four years in does not bode well for long-term aging.
