1/30/13, 5:50 PM - This wine has drank consistently well since I acquired in late 2010. My experience with CDPs is only 3-4 years old but Pegau (good or "bad" vintages) has consistently been one of my favorite wines. My only concern with this asset / wine class is that prices have skyrocketed in the last few years (maybe people finally realize the QPR for CDPs vs. other categories).
Cheers.

1/30/13, 6:35 PM - My thoughts exactly. While more and more CdP have been imported into the states, the RP numbers have driven prices sky high. I always go with Pegau and Beaucastel. I only bought 2 of each in 2010, but if I hold them for 10+ years they will be excellent. The 2003 Pegau is to die for. It really was one of my favorites from last year and I went to some CT events that had amazing wines. I felt bad for wasting a Clos du Papes from vintage 2007, and while some people loved it, I just thought it hot and a great bottle wasted. Pegau '08 had a lot of people whispering about excessive "Brett', but the meaty, bacon smell is part of the attraction of CdP in general and with air blows off quickly.
