Community Tasting Note

January 19, 2013 - Aerated for four hours, no decanting. Dark crimson color, with fabulous aromatics of black fruits, freshly picked berries, truffle, and a hint of mocha, the sweet floral scents give the wine a seductive feminine feel. With such a great opening, the experience on the palate took it back down a bit. Its rather light and not very concentrated, with hard press, notes of cherry, plum and jasmine tea leaf can be revealed. Tannins are firm yet tasty, and a smoky finish of tobacco ensued, but a bit short.

The bouquet is worth 91-93 pts alone, but tasting may only score 87-89. Perhaps with more aging, the experience will get much better. But with similar price tag, would rather recommend 2000 Prieure Lichine, which is wonderful.
