  February 5, 2013 - Clear dark garnet-ruby color. Subdued bouquet of creme de cassis, forest floor, anise seed, hints of saddle soap and creosote. A welcome sense of freshness and purity, pleasantly free of any savory meaty notes. On the palate, this was balanced, with smooth tannins, pleasant tartness, medium body and nice finish. Improved steadily over two hours in the glass and was still very nice a day later under vacuum stopper.
