February 11, 2013 - Great bottle of a classic textbook Bordeaux. Was brought over by a friend, could have benefited from being stood up for a couple days, a lot of fine sediment. Gave it about a 1hr decant and it had begun to open up. Enjoyed over the next 2 hours and it kept getting better and better (recommend a 2-3hr decant at least). On the nose, there were lovely aromas of cedar, dark cassis, menthonl/mint, old leather, and earth. Tannins were velvety smooth, round on the palate, and nicely integrated. Great fruit on the palate with a nice earthy character. Amazingly balanced wine. Will be hitting it's peak in a few years I think. 93+
