February 19, 2013 - Moderate nose of green apple, lime and almonds. Creamy body with a decent balance of apple and citrus notes and some nice yeasty notes.

2/19/13, 1:09 PM - This is a champagne that really shows its stuff long down the road. I hate the clear bottles, and that cheesy UV film. I have a cellar that is cool, always dark unless I flip on the light, and quite humid. I have had great results with all my vintage champagnes, and much longer than for bottles stored improperly. Light is as much the enemy to champagne as is heat. I enjoyed a bottle of '99 in its youth. It just goes down like silk, but with all the best things about champagne included, but I am sitting on my other bottle. I will sit on the '04 for at least 10 years. Glad you got a chance to enjoy a bottle young. This wine was rated by RP the same as '99, which is the highest he has rated any bottle other than Krug or DP from '96. I do expect great things. Not a giant RP fan, but he does have a knack for predicting wines that will age well, and this is one of them. Thanks for the notes. -CiH!
