February 24, 2013 - Opened one hour before serving. Intense dark ruby color. This concentration is evident also at nose, where we found lots of dark fleshy sweet ripe fruit - plum, black cherry, black soft fruits, rhubarb confiture - spices, chocholate, mocha, tobacco, dried flowers. Still rather oaky after 12 years. At palate very nice texture, important backbone of silky tannins and nice refreshing acidity, yet enough balanced. Long finish. Very good wine indeed, but IMHO should be more varietal and territorial to make a definitive step.
