  February 23, 2013 - Decanted 2 hours. No sediment. Sourced from Red Willow Vineyard. Medium color with purple-tinged gradient toward the rim. Subdued but complex nose balances sweet berry and plum notes with savory herbs, dried grass and fresh tilled earth. The initial palate impression is ripe, sweet and viscous with layers of dark fruit, powdered cocoa and exotic jam. Full-bodied and powerful with fine-grained tannins, this is impressive and delicious now but should continue to develop positively for several more years. Drink now through 2017.
