  March 11, 2013 - This wine is so close to fascinating, but it falls short right now, and the question is whether that is due to being opened too early or simply to having missed the mark. Deep and dark when poured, the wine gave little on first night. The next evening, there was more fruit on the nose, but it was still very restrained. It never opened on the palate, showing muted notes of dark cherries, licorice and tobacco, but no "oomph" and too much heat on the finish. To be revisited in 2+ years, but I am a bit concerned.
