March 24, 2013 - Classic CNDP. This bottle didn't show any of the hotness, dryness or rasping tannins often associated with this region in this vintage. No signs of anything but a still fairly youthful wine with plenty of fruit still to mature. Youthful Kirsch nose, a touch porty but not excessively so, dark red fruits, a hint of pepper and subtle hillside herbs. To taste, it is still on the young side but full of ripe red fruits, kirsch, good balance and with tannins in check. In all a very nice Chateauneuf that I expect to enjoy another 11 bottles of over the next 5 years or so.
