  August 23, 2013 - violet/inky appearance...dusty forest floor, faint licorice and very expressive black fruits on the nose with a hint of heat...black cherry, plums dominate a spicy and complex mid-palate that is decidedly a meld of old and new world styles...strong backbone holds silky tannins, acidity and alcohol in balance...still young and built to age...solid QPR and potential for improvement
