September 12, 2013 - Another disappointing 08' Red Burg. Decent nose, floral but not intense, clearly it is holding back something. Red fruits dominant on the palate, notes of pomegranate, red cherry, and spice. Bright acidity level, typical of this vintage. Medium bodied and not particularly deep. Label indicated 13% alcohol with no heat. But clearly 08' Red Burgs are NOT in a good spot at the moment, comparatively 07' Red Burgs are delicious these days. 08' Red Burgs are behaving like 96' Red Burgs, acidity may calm down one of these days but could be a long long wait. I have been waiting for 17 years for the 96' to come around. Still shows plenty of acidity on 2nd day. Interesting transformation on 3rd day, good balance on palate with stinky mud nose, deserved upgrade in score. Buy more? No! 89-91 pts.
