  January 17, 2014 - Quite lean, closed and inexpressive. I love old Rioja and had very high expectations from this bottle, but this particular one was rather disappointing. Nose and palate were quite weak, no usual complexity, didn't feel like a GR, rather like a usual crianza. The bottle was in perfect condition, so I am puzzled. Got another 2 bottles so will have a chance to reevaluate.
