February 15, 2014 - Can't believe it took me so long to try this. Everyone talks about this like it's some kind of weird, atypical outlier, but I don't get it. This is classic, top-notch Bordeaux, actually reminds me of a Leoville-Barton. (I guess the problem is it's not much cheaper than Leoville-Barton.) Immediately on the first sip you get a complex mix of flavors that takes a succulent black-fruit profile and adds a strong mineral element of rusty earth. That would make for an impressive wine all on its own but the mouthfeel is exceptionally classy and that's what takes it to the next level. It has a lean, feminine figure (not light; just slender) and keeps beckoning you to take another sip.
