February 20, 2014 - Coravin 2/20/14: Light-medium gold color; nose of moderate intensity with richness, some light tropical fruit, white fruit, slight vanilla, very chardonnay-like but fresher than cali chard; palate has very good acidity at first, some unbalanced oak, slightly unbalanced alcohol, some white fruit, tapers off in midpalate; finish fades and is unbalanced. At first a promising alternative to California chardonnay, but despite some interesting components, the pieces seem to be in the wrong places and don't flow together well. Nose 87, palate 83-, overall about 84-85. Won't age well.
Update: Integrates a bit with 30-60 min of air, now up to a decent replacement for California chardonnay with good acid, but still nothing to search out.
Update: Pleasant to drink after it integrated a bit more. Bumping up the score a bit. 86-87999 views
