  decanted 1 hour, paired with roasted brussels sprouts, pan-seared filets and sweet potato. meal was ok, wine was marginally better. the showing this time around was much older than 8 years would belie. i would have said 15+ if tasting blind. cherry pipe tobacco, leather, sweet blackberry, a little acid, and fully-integrated tannins. could have been an iffy cork. enjoyable, but not as much as previous bottles. if scoring this bottle, 86-88. i still think "good" bottles of this have lots of life, this just wasn't one of them.
