March 15, 2014 - Louis/Dressner Tasting with all the Winemakers (E&R, Portland, OR): Fantastic dark orange color. Smells like a burning rubber ball. Incredibly deep and complex. Very compelling. Maybe it also smells like burning Skittles candy, as there's a sweet funky fruit there, too. Very penetrating notes. Thick body and incredible richness, with a wild streak for sure. So deep, with more funky fermenting burning skittles. Tons of acid throughout. A wallop of strawberries on the finish and tons of acid. I love that acidic strawberry flavor. Ridiculous changes and evolution on the finish. Tastes like orange marmalade. Of course not everyone's cup of tea, but boy is it mine. 92-93, leaning to the 93. This is so good because it's so interesting. I wonder if I'd score it lower if I got used to it.
