April 20, 2014 - medium ruby, not very clear. sour cherry and raspberry in nose. same fruity taste in mouth, straight and high acidity leading palate (compare to other Marlborough PN), medium bodied, fine grained tannins, warm. very dry, lack sweetness to balance the acidity. medium dry finish with spice and bitterness.

compare to vintage 2010, the acidity is a little milder and moderate, but it still needs a little sweetness to lift up (it doesn't have to be sugar). otherwise, it's too lean to drink alone without food.

    Spiegelau 2013 - Gold, AirNZ 2013 - Gold, Easter Show 2014 - Gold. Alc 13.5%, TA 5.7, RS nil

    Ap: 3/5; Ar: 12/15; Palate: 15/20; overall: 4+2/10
    TOTAL: 86/100
