May 13, 2014 - Extreme power blast of intense fruit and alcohol right out of the bottle. Fist sip almost cough syrupy and sweet with extremely hot finish. Let it open a bit. It unwinds fast. The beast was tamed a couple of hours end, became a medium bodied sipper with lots to talk about. Has a wild character, herbal, stony, chewy, cassis. Solid spine with integrated tannins, good acidity and a long, lingering finish. My only complaint is runs a little hot. Not as much after breathing, but still enough to wonder if this was the beginning of the end? I have more '04s but they are the single vineyard Tempier's. I would not hold this regular bottle more than another 1-2 years from what I tasted.
