  June 27, 2014 - This deep garnet wine was tasted in double-blind fashion, with the bottle kindly being provided to our tasting group by T.R. Although decanted, this wine had minimal aeration yet showed and amazingly intense bouquet of lavender, red fruits, leather and truffles. Full-bodied, freshly acidic, seamlessly alcoholic (13.5%) and with soft residual tannins, this Sperrs carries its complex flavors throughout the middle palate and lengthy finish. An absolutely stunning product from this particular bottle! I am sure that there is substantial bottle variation at this point, but well-cellared bottles deserve serious consideration. Drink now-2020.
