August 2, 2014 - It is a curious scene, an exotic garden perched high on a cliff. First, around the periphery, green tomatoes, a little eucalyptus, vegetal. Then an inner circle of underbrush and some mushrooms, umami. But right in the centre, are shrubs of red berries, a deep fragrance emitting from the core, and a ballerina standing en point, delicate yet strong, in sublime balance. She starts with a pirouette, you are in awe, mesmerized by the elegance of her dance... You take a breath, and look away, she is turning, faster and faster, but she loses her footing somehow. You reach out to catch her, but it's too late, as she falls dramatically off the precipice.

La Tache has a nose that's fresh and alive, light tannins still present, an assortment of flavors layered and textured to reveal a core of fragrant red fruit. Infinitely elegant when first poured, while this should still be relatively young, the wine does not stand up well to the air, and unfortunately tapers off quite abruptly with some time in the glass.
